COURSE OVERVIEW

Certificate IV in Ageing Support prepares you to care for Australian seniors effectively in residential facilities and their homes, making real change in their lives. Candidates have the flexibility of choosing to study either online or in a blended – webinar & classroom environment which will determine the Registered Training Organisation the student will be enrolled with.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates will need to demonstrate a capacity to undertake study at Certificate III level, this can be demonstrated via the following:

  • Prospective students are required to complete a Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment and a Pre-Training Interview, administered by and to the satisfaction of the registered training provider –and be at least 18 years of age.
  • You must have good word processing and email skills as well as the ability to download and upload documents and information.

AS PART OF THIS COURSE YOU WILL NEED TO:

Complete the application & enrolment documentation, provide proof of Australian residency, photo ID or alternatively, a birth certificate or current Passport.

PRACTICAL PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS:

To achieve the qualification of Certificate IV in Ageing Support CHC43015, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of supervised practical placement in relevant aged care settings. Evidence provided by the supervisor will contribute to assessment of the candidate’s ability to work at this level. Students who enrol into the online study option will be required to source their own suitable practical placement, however the relevant Registered Training Organisation will provide the host employer documents.

For students who choose to enrol in the blended classroom option, the relevant Registered Training Organisation will assist to source a suitable practical placement opportunity.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. A satisfactory National Police Check (NPC) will be required for all practical placements.
  2. Immunisation certificate may be requested by the host employer.
